Shutting down word 2002

Why does office plug in on Norton interfere with shutting down word 2002.
Sometimes the blue bar at the top flashes and as well the orange box at the
bottom flashes. In my last post on the subject I was advised to disable
office plug in which seemed to work.
Why should I have do disable the office plug in on Norton if it was designed
to scan word documents????

You need to ask Symantec why their plug-in is useless. Disable it. It is the
cause of your problems and does nothing useful that isn't already covered by
Norton AV's other tools.
