side fold card

I want to print a single half page side fold greeting card - 4.25 X 5.5 -
using half piece of paper. I used to be able to figure this out on my old
version of Publisher but now have the new version. I can't find a way to have
a custom paper size of 5.5 X 8.5.

Another question re side fold cards..printing: I have created the front &
back of a side fold (5.5" x 8.5") greeting card. I do not have a duplex
printer so want to print pps 1 & 4 on one side of the card stock and then
turn the paper (now printed on one side) over and print pps 2 & 3. The
Publisher 2003 print dialog box does not allow the selection 1,4 which would
(in Word) print pps 1 and 4....Pps 2 & 3 are no problem as the print dialog
box allows 2 to 3....but if I put in 1 to 4, I do NOT want that result.
Publisher is a card publishing program. It MUST be possible to print cards
from it...HOW!!??

I should have been more clear...I need to print 200 cards...this means 200 of
pps 1 & 4 on one side.....then reload the paper and print 200 of pps 2 &
3....It is easy to print 1 card...Publisher knows how to do that....but how,
without a duplex printer do I print 200..first of side one, and then of side
2? There must be a way!

I don't understand...you say print current page...as I understand it,
"current page" means "current page"..so, if I am page 4 (ie the back page of
the sidefold card) , it will print page 4...this is NOT what I want...this
will only print 1 page (p. 4)...If I have text on p1 and p 4 of the side fold
card, how does that answer answer help me?...I want to print 200 copies of
pps 1 & 4 on one side of the 8.5 x 11 sheet, then reload the paper and print
pps 3 & 4.

Are you seggesting I put 200 sheets in, print p. 1, then reload, print p4,
then reload and print 2 & 3? Is it THAT complicated to print multiple
sidefold cards with Publisher?

You also say "click no": You must have been interrupted...there is no "no"
selection that I could find.

I would appreciate more information if you have the time 'casue I don't
understand your answer

You do have to input how many copies of the current page you want to print.
When you select print current page and click no on the next pop-up it will print both
the front and back. Have you tried a test of this?

Thanks...yes I did test it...there is no subsequest pop up box to say "no" to
....but it does print both pages notwhithstanding the instructions to print
the "current page"...how bizzare, confusing and non-intuitive.

Since I had to keep the project moving last night, I worked on some work
arounds: delete 2 of the pages and build the card as though it is a 2 page
document and do this for the front and the back. The prob here is that there
appears to be a bug in the View/2 page document - no matter how many times
you click that selection, it will NOT show both pages on the screen making
designing a pain.

Plan B was to use 1 page in horizontal (Landscape) format and design half
the card on each side. Then do the same for the flip side of the card. This
way you can see both sides of the card (avoiding the bug) and have zero
printing problems. It works!!

WHEW!!...but why does it have to be this HARD!

Am having the much the same challenges with Calendar creation...tried
mightly to use MSFT programs...none could accomplish...the only ticky thing I
have is need to import 150 dates (birthdays, anivs from Excel, txt or cvs),
add them to the annual events, have them repeat year after year (so I don't
have to re-type)...and, ideally, have a calc field that computes the years
between birth date and the calendar date so it can say "Joe's 10th birthday".
Simple concept...AWESOME difficult to achieve. Am I the only person in the
world who has these needs for a calendar? I am having to use Broderbund
Calendar Creator ver 9....gruesomely AWFUL program...but it does what I need
at the expense of HOURS of tedious work and the constant fear that its
database will blow up....Google search turned up nothng better....any
suggestions w/b welcomed.....2 brain busters in a single evening..whew!!

You might suggest to MSFT that it a) make cards more intuitive to print and
b) they come up with a half decent calendar option....thanks for your
suggestions. ...DEP
