Signature will not use WORD as editor

I have Office 2003, Windows XP. When I try to compose a new signature with
logo, I open a new signature and click on ADVANCED EDIT. WORD will not open
as the editor, all I get is Notepad. I need the html and graphics power of
WORD. I have checked HTML as the format to compose new messages. According
to the HELP, this should trigger WORD being selected to edit the signature.
No matter what I check or don't check, all I get is Notepad as the external
editor. I am tearing my hair out and I can't afford that.

I think... Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs and make sure HTML
Editor is set to Word.
....or even easier simply compose your signature in Word normally. Edit |
Copy it.... go to the regular Outlook Edit Signature window, right click and
choose Paste.
