Single Sign on Window Prompts

If a user is already logged into the single sing-on site through the web
browser, and then the user copy and pastes the url into the microsoft word,
he then gets prompted again for the user id and password. Is there a way of
avoiding those prompts.

Not if the site is using a folder level password.

Is there an option for "Remember my user name and password"?
