Slide Master

I am very new to PowerPoint and I'm learning the basics pretty well but I
see references made to Slide Master. Can someone explain what it is, what is
the purpose of using it, and briefly how to use it? TIA

The slide master contains info that affects or shows on every slide.
egbackgrounds, the font name, size and color for placeholders and a logo or
footer that appears on every slide. You can also add animations to
placeholders that will play on every slide.

Access the slide master through View > Master > Slide master
