Slide Show message

How is it possible to get rid of the "Starting Slideshow" message that
appears at beginning of slideshow. This was not appearing earlier but has
just started appearing with I hit F5.

Sorry, John. I should have indicated that we are using PowerPoint XP (2002).
OS is also XP. Thank you.

I believe that XP has always shown this message at the start of a show. I
don't think it can be disabled

It may have disappeared more quickly?

Sometimes the content of slide 1 can affect this (lots of content slow
start). Try adding a blank slide with a zero second transition.
