Slow Office Attachments

When I double-click on an Office attachment in an e-mail message, Outlook
freezes for about 15-30 seconds to open the document. I do not have any
delay opening the same Office attachments from the Reading Pane.
My config:
Outlook 2003 SP1
Office 2000 SR-3
Exchange 2003
Windows 2000 SP4
McAfee virus scan

I have already tried the following:
-http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2004/up040722.htm#slow
-Check the Add-in Manager for third-party
-McAfee setting have been checked
-Changed the network card to match the switch-turn off the auto detect
-Updated Office to SR-3
