slow openning clicking on file or shortcut.

Hi,
I have WinXP Pro SP2 and Office 203.
Everything was fine but from some time opening any office files clicking on
the file or thru shortcuts is extremely slow.
If I open the same files directly from the apps window it's working as it
should be - very well. All other apps files such as Notepad or Internet
Explorer are opened fast by clicking on them or thru shortcuts. But, if it's
even links to the website inside the Outlook e-mail it'll take minutes to
open.
So, everything associated with Office can take long time to be opened if
it's not thru its own app window (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Can anybody clarify how it could be fixed?

Thanks

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

Thanks for the reply, garfield. But, it says "You have no network drives to
disconnect."

I have precisely the same problem. I can no longer launch MS Office
documents or URLs from Outlook links or from within Windows Explorer.
It hangs for 2-3 minutes, then eventually either (a) opens or (b) gives
the error: "there was a problem sending the command to the program"

I have tried the following, no help:
- I have no network drives mapped
- I disabled firewall (zonealarm) and antivirus (CA eTrust)
- I used "Detect and Repair" from Word and Outlook
- I ran a complete virus scan with new signatures
- I ran a complete MS AntiSpyware scan, cleaned two minor offenders,
and rebooted
- Removed COM add-in from Outlook (Google search) and rebooted

This began on three days ago, seemingly out of the blue. I cannot
correlate to any new programs or configuration changes. I'm running
Windows XP Pro, Office 2003.

I have found numerous newsgroup postings dating back to 2002 with
similar problems, and nobody has an answer. Microsoft.com support
knowledgebase has no answers.

I have exactly the same problems with XP pro and office 2002
