slow outlook

I am working with outlook 2002 and find that it is
working very slow at the moment. To change from one
email to another takes an age. I have this problem last
year but found that changing an internet setting solved
this, but I can't remember. Any idea's

See if un-checking the Instant Messenger integration helps, this is located
Tools > Options > Other

If you are working with a pst file then you try compacting, to do this right
click the root folder choose Properties > Advanced > Compact Now (Compact
about 3 times). Other than I would try some disk maintenance, Disk clean up
and defrag.
