Slow Response

I just loaded Office 2003 and since then I have been experiencing extremely
slow response. While typing after severs seconds I look up and notice that
the words are not appearing on the document. After a long period of time the
words do appear. If I use the arrow up or arrow down the words appear
immediately. Is there an update to fix this issue?
