Right were to start....
I am relativly new to access. I have been setting up a database for a small
business that sells multiple products to multiple customers. The business
expenditure is not product based as suppliers of various parts of the
products are paid in lump invoices. So far i have created a database that
allows customers to be created and multiple orders to be allocated to these
customers, the products are stored stored seperatly so that the user can
allocte them to orders. This side of the database works well and is easy for
the user to work with. The data base also includes an expenditure table that
contains the businesses exact out goings (some invoice based - have a delay
from the recipt of an invoice to the date of payment and some direct payments
- costs that have been payed directly e.g. at a high street shop.) This is
linked to a supplier table that allows multiple expeditures to be allocated
to each supplier.
Due to the style of payment by the business i can not link exect amounts of
income and expenditure to products (i have been reading other forum problems)
ideally i would like to create reports that will show the businesses
expediture and income on a monthly/weekly etc basis so that i can then
calculate the profit loss etc. At the moment i cant get it to do this!
So if any one can help it would be most appreciated, i am not sure if i have
just missed somthing really obvious or if it is the basic design/idea of the
database flawed.
Thanks Clive
