Smart Tags

How do I get rid of a smart tag after it appears? I know
how to eliminate them permanently but not how to get them
off the screen after they appear.

Just ignore it and continue with the next operation. The smart tags are
operation sensitive. They disappear automatically when you perform a task
which doesn't have a smart tag associated with it.
