Solver "By changing cells" question

Hi all,

I just installed Solver for v.X running on Jaguar and was just about to
use it when I found out there's no way to click-select in the worksheet
the cells you want for the "Cells to change" setting.

All the other fields (Set Cell, constraints, etc) have the ability to
select via mouse the fields you wish, but not the Change cells.

Why is this, and is there a way to 'fix' it?

For "why is this", you'd have to ask Frontline Systems, which
developed solver (and has lots more solvers, and excellent
tutorials):

Current Win versions do have RefEdit controls to select cells using
the mouse.

Unfortunately, there's no fix. However, if you select your cells of
interest in XL before invoking Solver, and give them a name in the
Name box, you can enter that name in the Cells to change box. Saves
a bit of typing, anyway.

You can provide feedback to MS requesting this be updated, using
Help/Feedback on Excel. It should be a relatively easy fix, but
where it would fall on the priority list, I haven't a clue.
