Sorting Tasks in Today view?

I can't see any logic in the order in which Tasks are listed in the
Today view (in Outlook 2002). The first is a task with due date 12th
Nov, the next 9th Nov, etc, i.e reverse date sequence, then a batch
with None (no due dates) which are not in alphabetic or any other
apparent order. I looked for an option or setting but so far haven't
found anything relevant.

I don't have Outlook 2002 in front of me to look at but if I had to guess
I'd surmise they might be in Start Date order.

On the top right do you have a "Customize Outlook Today" link? And if you
click that do you get an option to adjust the sort of the tasks?

Many thanks - never noticed that link! They turned out to be in
Descending order of Due Date.

However, I have now lost that "Customize Outlook Today" link. Or
rather, Outlook has lost it! I was trying out each 'Type' of Today
layout, using Save Changes each time. I got as far as displaying the
'Winter' layout. But unlike all the previous layouts, that does not
show the Customize link. So, Catch 22, I cannot change back to my
preference (Standard).

Unless you can point me to a settings or INI file somewhere and I have
a backup. I certainly don't want to do a System Restore or something
drastic like that just to correct this. (A design flaw or bug?)

Try making the Outlook window larger. Some conditions cause the Customize
button to be off-window without a scroll bar. Otherwise, you can configure
Outlook Today manually.

Thanks Brian. From some further googling yesterday I discovered the
Winter view was a recognised issue, with that link only visible at the
bottom right (and even then only by fully scrolling in the way you
suggested).
