How do I find & retrieve sound files from a PPT slide show (I created) to be
used as wave files in another document other than PPT.

If you save your presentation as (File > Save As) Web page, it will break out
the elements and allow you to isolate your sound.

Thank you Sandy....

I saved it to the web on my desktop, but cannot open or access it. Any
suggestions?

Just open the folder of files that should have been saved with the web page.
The sound file should be in that.

To open the HTML file itself, open PPT, then go to File|Open, and select
"all files" from the dropdown at the bottom of the dialog box. Then navigate
to your desktop and open the presentation you saved as HTML.
