Sound help needed.

Tony Fernandez

I want to distribute a presentation as a pps file, but the attached sound
will only play on my PC, when I play the presentation on another PC, it comes
out with no sound. I have embedded a wav file and I tried it first with an
mp3 file, but still, no sound in other PC's. What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure you embedded the wav file? Under normal circumstances It should
have played on other PC's. Wav files are the only files that can be embedded.
All other files are linked, and should accompany the presentation when moved to
other computers

Michael, thank you so much for taking the time to answer. yes, I did embed
the wav file, because I knew that only wav's can be embedded and that's
exactly want I want, just a single file that plays with sound and all. All I
can think of is that either I am doing something wrong (inadvertently) or the
fact that this file was mp3 and then converted to wav does have a bearing in
the final result.

How big is your wav file? The largest file size that can be embedded is 50000kb
this is set under Tools, Options, General. Like you said the conversion may have
mucked up. How did you do the conversion?

Did you realize that you have to set the embed size in Tools/Options before
inserting the WAV if you want it to be embedded?

I converted it in wavepad, it's a free app that does everything I need (not
that I need much when it comes to sounds), but here's what I will do next: I
will go ahead and edit the sound file again, save it as wav, embed it again
(it's smaller than 50 mb) then save my pps once more and see if it works.
I'll let you know

And again, thanks for your response.

Thank you so much for that link Echo, I appreciate it, I really didn't know
that you had to set the size, but now I do thanks to you.. :)

I will go ahead and try it all once again and let you all know if it worked
fine.

Thanks
