sp3 for Office XP

I have done this from just a dial up modem--no broadband--and again,
I have been able to save it to disk from the download site but I could
never make it install properly. I think they make it that way. It works,
and is quicker, to do it as they instruct you to do it, and that is to
click
on "Open". I think there must be some reason why Microsoft gives
that instruction. Even though the files were saved to disk OK, you
can try it a hundred times and it still will not install properly.

Try going to http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp.
Update your Microsoft Windows here, and when that is finished
click on the words on the page heading that say "Office Update".
This will take you to the site to update all of your Office products.
Both of these sites will search your computer to determine what
updates you need for your computer. It takes all the guess work
out of it. I suggest you use them on a regular basis. Nonetheless,
on Microsoft Download sites, it does not work to try to save
to disk first, and then try to install. It only works if you follow
the directions and click on "Open".
