I would like to deliver my presentations using notes created in MS Word
instead of adding them to particular slides within Powerpoint.
Is there a way I can have Powerpoint open in Show mode but have the view
minimized to say a quarter of the computer screen. Than I could have the Word
open at the same time to view my notes.

It wouldn't be convenient then. If you want to view the word document, you
will have to switch to MS word, and if you need to proceed to the next slide,
you will need to switch back.

If you are showing some diagram, it would be best you put it into
powerpoint, or make a link to the word document.
