Spell check in Office 2000 Word not working

I have a user who was using spell check in office 2000 with no problems.
Now spell check is not an option anymore. It's grayed out in the Options
tab. What's funny is it works fine in Excel and Outlook.

Any ideas for a fix would be great. I have tried uninstalling, rebooting
and then reinstalling with not luck.
