Spellcheck

When I am sending emails that my spellcheck always defaults to 'do not check
spelling or grammar' - visible through 'spelling/check language' where the
'do not check...' box is always ticked)
I can only enable spell-checking by manually accessing, before sending an
email, 'spelling/check language' option and unclicking the 'do not check...'.
Even if I select this as a default (option available at 'spelling/check
language') the default always resets (in future emails) to 'do not check..'
How do I establish a stable default of 'do not check..' as unchecked.
Thx. Peter O'Sullivan.

Diane, I have just thought about what led to this (my typing into the
signature area which is a spell-check nogo zone)... I wonder if there is
anotherw ay of achieving what I want to achieve. This is it... I use the
'signature' feature to generate both a signature (to gio below typed text)
and a header (to go above typed text), and type in between.
Is there anyway of generating both the header and the signature?
Thx. PeterO'

You have two options- use Autotext (Quickparts in 2007) for large blocks of
text or Autocorrect for up to 255 characters or change the style each
time - select the entire message and go to the Spelling dropdown, choose
language. The Do not spell check box will be filled. Clear it. Now the whole
message can be spell checked.

Autocorrect is the easiest for salutations (since most are short) - use a
unique keyword like #sal for it. Change the Do not spell setting when you
accidently type in the signature area.

Diane, again thanks. Autotext works - although a bit clunky as the text I
want to use is my address over two/three lines
I cannot understand how to use quickparts .. and fnd the help/guidance
unhelpful. Will spend some more time on it later.
