Spelling not working

I have noticed that when I am writing a document the
spellcheck doesn't work at all. I can write anything,
without generating an error recognized by the dictionary.
Could I get a copy of the custom.dic file, in order to
solve this problem, or what do I have to do?

You need to turn on the feature to check spelling as you
type. I am working on an old version of Word here at the
office but the steps should still be similar. Click
through the following menus:

Tools > Options > Spelling & Grammar

Select the box for "Check spelling as you type."

Make sure that the language of the document matches the language of the
proofing tools and that you do not have "Hide spelling errors in this
document" checked on the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options. Note
that hiding spelling errors is the default for Word 95 or earlier documents
opened in Word 97 or later.
