Spreadsheet like view showing work by resource per task

My boss needs me to report the Work assigned to each task for each resource
so he can see how the work is split up. He's not an MS Project person and
thus needs me to print out a spreadsheet type layout.

After days of searching I haven't found anything in MS Project 2003 that
does this, can anyone advise me on how I can set this up?

Thanx in advance.

Hi JLDN,

Under View>Reports>Workload... does the Resource Usage report show what you
need?

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanx for reply JulieS, I really appreciate it, unfortunately that doesn't
QUITE do it, I did see that option yesterday.

What I need is total work ASSIGNED, not over time. E.g., John Smith has 45
hours assigned, at the task and summary level.

I just realised, I really need the totals at the summary level, as opposed
to the task. Summary totals are total for all resources, I want to know what
the totals are for each resource.

Any thoughts?

Hi JLDN,
Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I think you could use either the Resource or Task Usage views and export the
data to Excel You could use the Analyse Timescale Data in Excel wizard on
the Ayalysis toolbar. Or use the direct procedure written in the days of
Project 98 but still works in 2003. Please see FAQ Item: 10. Exporting to
Excel.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
