still a case of disappearing images

I have Windows XP with SP3 on 6 new HP laptops (cloned) . Five of the six
machines display only placeholders where valid images should be (in both Word
& Powerpoint) in both the body & headers of documents. These images can be
seen in print preview, and any other preview view (ie. in SideBar in
Powerpoint). I have double checked the Picture placeholders and followed
steps in the related MVP article about 'inserting graphics from web', no
resolution. I did notice, however, that the images reappear (temporarily)
when they are repainted on the screen when another window is dragged over the
image in question. I have updated video drivers as well...

any thoughts? Reinstallation of office did not resolve problem.

Hi Al,

You may want to check for an update for your graphic
card drivers/chipsets if the new computers are using
Intel graphics chipsets either through HP, the card
maker or the Intel site, especially if you can right
click on the desktop and turn down the graphic acceleration
two or more clicks to improve the issue.
