Still creating second archive folder

Hi,
In outlook 2003 I have My personal folders and my archive folders, but when
I go to archive, Outlook opens another archive folder and just archives what
is in my personal folder. I want all of the information to go into the
archive folder that holds all of my information. Both folders have the same
path C:\Documents and Settings\Dad\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive backup. How can I stop outlook creating
another archive folder each time I archive?

I remember chatting with you about this in another thread...do I remember
correctly that you said the file path to your archive file did not have
".pst" at the end of it? From what you posted below, it looks like this is
still the case...make sure the file path is pointing to a valid .PST file.

I have done what you said Jocelyn, copied the files from the folder path
backup to C:\Documents and Settings\Dad\My Documents\archive backup.pst and
under the archive folder properties made the path point to the pst folder. I
looked in the PST folder and I now have duplicates of everything in the
archive folder. I then ran archive and it again created a second archive pst
folder with the latest contents of my personal folder inside it.

How do I empty the duplicates from the Archive folder and how can I stop the
program creating a second archive pst?

Jocelyn, I have now deleted both Archive folders and imported the archive
pst into my personal folder.
I then creted an archive Folder that shows within outlook. The only problem
that I have, is many duplicate mail items in the archive folder, how do I
get rid of them without having to spend hours picking through them manually

Glad you got it working, except for the duplicates See if any of the
tools listed at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/mail.htm#dupes will meet
your needs.

Most of the duplicate file removers are not free. I downloaded a freebie
from a uk site Prayernet or something but it takes about three weeks to find
the duplicates and remove them. I thought that I had cracked it then when I
went to archive, the second archive folder appeared. Argahhhh!
