STOP leveling resources in a MASTER project

I have several projects that I have added to a master
project and It is taking forever to level each project
everytime a small change is made. Other than Clearing all
leveling, is there a way to manually stop leveling and
then turn it back on later when I have made all the
changes I want to make?

You might try the following:

1. Click Tools - Level Resources...
2. In the Leveling Calculations section at the top of the dialog box,
select the "Manual" option
3. Click OK

This will turn off automatic leveling, and the software will only level when
you are good and ready, and choose to do so. As a general rule, I do not
ever level a project in any task view, because I would lose control of the
leveling process. I only level in the Resource Usage view, leveling one
resource at a time. I examine the results of leveling by opening a second
window and applying the Leveling Gantt view. On any task that has not been
leveled according to my wishes, I clear the leveling in the Leveling Gantt
view on ONLY those tasks, and then do leveling on those tasks using another
method, such as by creating a manual assignment delay, or substituting an
available resource for an overallocated resource. Hope this helps.
