Stop thumbnails when inserting pictures

W

Wind Dance

This is the most irritating thing I have run into with
Publisher 2002: When I 'insert picture' the window opens
and shows thumbnails of the 500 pictures I have in that
directory and makes it impossible to find a picture by
its name. I change it to details, then the next time I
need to insert a picture it shows thumbnails again. HOW
DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING. I don't want thumbnails,
if I did I would click on thumbnails when I search for
the file. I insert alot of pictures and I am about ready
to burn this program. What's with all this automatic
stuff? Nothing automatic should be done on a program
without having some way to shut it off.

You are correct and there is no way to fix that major bug.

Many screamed about this issue before Publisher 2002 was released, but
nobody cared to listen.

MS has such a monopoly they have no need to listen or appease customers.

This is an Office wide issue, not just Publisher. This has been addressed in
the new version of Office, Office 2003. That includes Publisher 2003.
