straight line vs. right angle connectors

I'm stymied. I am doing a cross-functional flowchart.
WHen I built the diagrams the connection tool was doing
all connections between shapes using right angled lines
(Flowchart).

Now if I add a connector line it is creating straight line
between shapes, which I don't want - I want the right
angles. I've checked the Page layout and it is set to
routing = flowchart.

clicking on the connector lines (both right angle and
straight line) and looked at format>behavior>connector and
the line routing style is set to Page Default.

I can't figure out why I am getting straight lines now.
AM I missing a setting somewhere?
