straight lines In SHOW MODE

In versions of pre-2003 I could hold down the shift key and get straight
lines. How do I do that in 2003. I want straight lines in SHOW MODE not
the development mode.

Unfortunately this has disappeared in version 2003, don't know why, but it
certainly does not work in the Dutch version.

I used the straight lines all the time as in my consulting work I make a lot
of boxes and drawings in show mode. Do you know of some type of macro or 3rd
party software that will let me do it.
