Strange error: The measurement must be between 1 pt and 31 pt.

Please help! I'm experiencing a very strange problem with MS Word v11.2
for Mac:

I'm working on a normal document, with several tables and figures (a
research paper), and after making a wrong keystroke, each page of my
document suddenly had a group of nine six-pointed yellow stars just
above the header as well as random chunks of black on the top left
corner, the right side, and under the footer. It appears to be a page
border of some kind, especially because all of the items are above or
below the header/footer, or in the left and right margins.

When I go to remove the border (i.e. Format:Borders and Shading:page
Border), I am instantly given an error message, in a simple window,
that reads:

The measurement must be between 1 pt and 31 pt. (OK)

Even when I attempt to alter the shading in a table cell, I get the
same error.

If anyone has any information on how to resolve this issue, please
help. All I need to do is:

1) Delete the silly border
2) Get permission to access the cell shading tab for tables

Please email me at (e-mail address removed), or reply to this post. Thank
you very much!

Hi <whatever your name is>

In Format:Borders and Shading:page Border:Options, one or more of your
border margins is greater than 31 pts.

If you go to Format:Borders and Shading:page Border and choose Setting =
"None" that will remove the page border and everything should come right.

Cheers

To complement:
To access Page Border tab, use say a blank document for to Format:Borders
and Shading:page Border tab. Close and return to your corrupted doc.
Format:Borders will open on the appropriate tab.
