strange text problem

Help! Everytime I type text in Word (aer I hit the
program/format, including e-mail), when I hit the v key,
this happens:

e

vade
e

ver
These seem to work howe

virtue
viral

Please help with any ideas of suggestions. I first
suspected a *irus, but nothing showed up.
