stsadm import

Hi,
This is what I'm trying to acheive in PS2007. We created new workspaces for
some of the projects. Now their URL is like http://servername/pwa/projname.
Their old project workspace was deleted..but that site still exists..which is
good because it has some risks and issues associated. The old URL is like
http://servername/sites/projname. I want to migrate the risks and issues from
this old site to the new site. How do I do it ?

These are the methods I approached:
1. Using UpdateListItems (a lot of coding...and not able to migrate all data)
2. stsadm -o export and stsadm -o import (faster and may be the best)
In this method, I didnt have any problem exporting the old site. But when I
tried to import it to the new site...it gives me some error

Progress: Importing Folder /pwa.
[3/3/2008 10:43:17 AM]: FatalError: Access denied.
at
Microsoft.SharePoint.SPGlobal.HandleUnauthorizedAccessException(UnauthorizedAccessException ex)
-------------------------------------------

On the other hand when I tried to import it to a URL like this
http://servername/sites/somename it worked. So I'm wondering if the 'sites'
and 'pwa' have something to do. But why ? And why is it trying to import the
folder /pwa ? I just want to mainly import the lists(risks and issues).

Thanks
Nach
