I'm sending a copy of student teacher to my cousin in
mexico does anyone know if spanish is the language
settings?

What do you mean? If you require the GUI to be in Spanish, then you would
need to purchase it in Spanish. If you mean proofing tools, I believe it
will spellcheck in 'classic' Spanish (that which is spoken in Spain) but I'm
not sure about variants. I know, because I went to school with students from
several Spanish-speaking nations (Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela,
Mexico) how different the variants are. My friend Mariana, who was
Colombian, had quite a bit of difficulty in understanding Esther, who was
from Seville.
