Styles and Paragraph Numbering

Dear All
I need to write a macro to open a word document, check
headers for an image, replace that image with a font,
delete all existing styles (leaving the numbering in the
doc behind at this point), delete the styles, update
styles to add newly created styles from another template.
I further need to go to each and every paragraph, check if
it has been numbered and check the level of numbering e.g.
1 or 1.1 and replace that numbering with the correct
style. I am busy working on the header/footer and
paragraph numbering part but I am not sure as to how each
document being opened, will delete and then update styles
automatically. I guess with the FileOpen() bit but thought
that anyone can direct me in the right direction. Any
sound advice will be much appreciated.
