Subject line kerning?

Boe

I have a client using Outlook 2001. When they create a new e-mail and start
entering the subject line, if they type in a long word to start it starts
crunching the letters together before truncating the final letters. When
they start entering spaces after the word, it starts to spread out and
resemble the word again. Can anyone tell me what causes this or how to fix
it?

Thank you.

Hi Boe!

You either have a font conflict or corrupted font.

I believe Outlook 2001 uses Arial as its default font. If you have any font
management software installed that is also activating any variation of
Arial, this may be where your conflict is coming from.

To start troubleshooting, remove all variations of Arial from your font
management software and let just the Arial font in your System Folder stay
present. After restarting Outlook, you still have the problem, try removing
all Arials from the System Folder and replace them with the Core Fonts
Update from Microsoft, found here:

Hope this helps! bill
