Thanks for your reaction,
Ok, I try to make it a somewhat clearer:
I thought that in 'Bar Styles', Project is using the following order: the
next style is overruling the first and so on to the last one, so the last
style will always be seen.
The problem is that my summary bars are not the right color: I colored the
'normal' bars with a flagfield, thats no problem. I also colored the summary
bars and I would like Project to print this color over the summary bar. The
color has to be in front of the standard black summary bar, so you could only
see the endings of the summary bar and in the middle the color (by
flagfield). Somehow this is not working, even not when I changed the order in
'Bar Styles'. Can there be something else wrong?
Thanks in advance!
van der Linden,
Thanks, that now makes a little more sense but I still have a few
questions. First of all, you are correct about how Project applies bar
styles - the lower the style is in the list the higher its "priority".
I still don't quite understand your statement about coloring the "normal
bars with a flag field. What does that have to so with the summary bars?
Are you looking for a rollup?
If I understand what you want for summary bars it does work. Here is
what I did. First, the default bar style for the summary bar is an
"upside down house" at the start and finish and an upper bar shape in
the middle. Everything is in black. I added another summary bar after
the default bar in the list (although it could be anywhere after the
default). For that added bar, I set it to be in red with an upper bar
shape and nothing at the start and finish. I then set the "Show
for...Tasks" to be Flag1. When I set the flag on a summary line, that
summary bar shows up with the red bar over the default summary bar but
the black start and finish symbols still appear, just as you want.
