swflash.ocx

I am having the same error, the swflash.ocx is missing when I run the Office
Pro 2003 training program. This is on a XP Home system. I have removed and
reinstalled the latest versions of Macromedia Shockwave and Flash with no
luck. Part 2 of this link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q302461 does not
refer to XP, only to W98 and ME. Not sure what to try next, help
appreciated. Bill

Did you do what the article advised? It will be the same for XP, it is telling you
the swflash.ocx file is damaged. You need to delete Shockwave from the objects file.

Thank you Mary, I wanted to make sure I could do the same using the XP
installation disk, I just did it and it worked! Actually, before loading
the XP disk, I did a search and found swflash.ocx in C:\I386 and copied it
to the Windows/System32/Macromedia/Flash directory. Thanks! Odd part is
after I copied swflash.ocx file from C:I386 to the system32 file, it no
longer shows up in C:I386 when searching "swflash.ocx" on the C drive, but
if I run a search using: *.ocx it still shows it in C:\I386. Maybe I need
to reboot? Thanks again.
