Switch from email to meeting request

Is there way to switch from an email that has gone back and forth a few time
to a meeting request. I'd like to keep all the correspondence of the email
in the meeting request.

I'm using Outlook 2002.

drag it to the calendar button and create a meeting request from the new
form that opens.

That kind of worked... It lost all the formatting. Any way around that
little problem?
