Switcher using Entourage, moved from Outlook 2003 on PC - several questions

I'm an intermediate/advanced PC Outlook user that's switched to a
MacBook at work. We use Exchange Server w/ our PCs. I had my Outlook
setup w/ a personal folder that pulled my email from the main Exchange
Server and freed up the server space. I ran everything from my laptop,
including syncing w/ my Treo 600.

I couldn't figure out how to implement a similar configuration in
Entourage. I have the "Folders on My Computer" and moved all my mail
folders there. I created a separate Exchange account to connect to the
Exchange Server. I then created a rule to move my email to my local
folder inbox, but I have to manually run that.

Is there a way to NOT have 2 separate "folders", this local folder and
Exchange account? I want to just have a single folder where everything
is stored and automatically pulled from the server, similar to what I
had on Outlook. Hopefully this makes sense.

Yep, there is no automatic scheduling in Entourage to do this the same
way outlook does. If you *always* want to move e-mails to these fodlers,
you could use rules for all incoming e-mails for the Exchange server
though.

You cannot really "remove" the Exchange section of the folder list, but
a simple rule on all incoming Exchange e-mail can move them all to the
local inbox as you receive them for instance.

Thanks Corentin.

How do I create that rule so that it moves the mail over, say every 10
minutes whenever I'm connected? I couldn't see anything under Rules or
Run Schedule that indicated "Moving" emails to local. I'm only
familiar w/ the Apply Rule which seems that it's only a manual process.

Well that's precisely the problem. It's easy to filter mail upon arival,
but it's a little more complicated for executing rules on a schedule.

The *easiest* option I could think of was to create a "schedule"
(Tool:Run schedule) that would move all the e-mails the way you want.
Since I saw no option there to do anything like what is offered in the
rules, you'd have to create an AppleScript that would move your e-mails
the way you want.
You can then select the Applescript for the Scheduled actions.

Not trivial if you have no idea what AppleScript does.
You should look around on the web (try http://scriptbuilders.net for
instance) to see if any such script already exists.

OK, not ready for scripts yet... How do I do it on arrival? That'd be
fine for me.

Look into Rules. It's really easy.
Tools:Rules:Exchange
You can move to different folders accrding to whatever criteria you
have, or simply move "All messages".
