switching form lotus notes using outlook connect

hi,

i have outlook 2003 and lotus notes 6.5.4. my email resides on a lotus
notes server but i really dont like the notes client.

is there a way i can configure outlook to connect with my lotus notes
server? i heard there's something called "outlook connect".

my biggest annoyance is with how slow the lotus client runs... the domino
web app is sooo much faster. i dont want to use outlook if it is going to be
similarly slow due to the "connect" system, but i would like to take
advantage of the outlook features (connectivity with plaxo, etc.).
