Can i add a picture to the Symbols list. If so how can i do it?

No, you cannot. The symbols in the Insert > Symbol dialog are taken from
your font files. Unless you create a new font with the picture in, there is
no way to do this.

Ed has already said no but I'd like to ask why. Maybe there is something else
that can be done that will suit your needs.

The only way to get anything into the Insert > Symbol dialog is to have it
in a font file.

To get an image into a font file is not easy without specific software.

I thought maybe there would be another way to do whatever it is she wanted
to do other than Insert-Symbol.

Thanks JoAnn, you are right, i want to include a specific picture as bullete
into publisher file in the process of creating a template. I ve still not
found a way to it since most of the formatting are lost if imported from
Word, and i cant create a bullete in publisher. any ideas?

hi JoAnn, I am trying to customize apicture as a bullete. Even if i get some
font installed and try to match the font with my desired picture, i wont be
able to get the color. right?

Sure you can. Match the hex value. I was using black but it can be done with
other colors.

However, if you had a font with a particular "picture" in that you wanted to
use as your bullet and used the Insert Symbol dialog to choose your picture,
then you would only be able to have it in one colour.

J

Yes. I was thinking a single color symbol, not a multi-colored picture.
