Last week I had installed Office 2003 SBE for a client. After starting
Outlook I have created an email account with with the companies Exchange
server. After a few days the client called and complained that he could
receive mail but that his outgoing mail would stay in Outbox. As I examined
this I found that all his folders where synchronised with the server
folders, except his outbox. As he had been away for a few weeks and had used
a rule to send his incoming mail to the Outbox in this period (don't ask me
why) the properties for this folder showed 2 items locally and 104 on the
server. Using another machine with Outlook 2000 showed that there where
indeed 1014 messages in his outbox.
I have installed servicepack 1 on his PC (after moving his mail back to the
Inbox) and indeed send mail was now deleivered to to intended recipient(s).
However, at this moment the client states that he cannot send mail, he
cannot browse public folders, but he does receive mail. He is using a laptop
with a wireless connection. One of his application is build in Access and
uses a locally placed frontend, connected to a serverbased backend. This
application is working. Furthermore he is using several serverbased
applications which all work.
Are there any suggestions of what may be the cause of this "partial"
synchronisation of Outlook folders
