First let me say, I am really excited about this Beta test. I am relatively
new to this, I started with the OneCare and went to the IE 7 (not a big fan).
I believe this version is wonderful, it's a little overwhelming at first
because the tool bars. I am not yet used to it. But, I sinmply love the GUI.
With todays user standards GUI is almost as importient as functionality. Even
my kids use it more simple because of the looks and it's more fun to use.
They're able to see the toolbar options so they can see what more they can do
to thier homework. I am however as little disappointed with the sytemwide
performance. My machine is slower to boot, the program is slow to start and
respond. My machine is, I would think, slighlty higher end. It has 256MB of
graphics card, 2Gb of RAM and a P-4 3.2 HT processor. No hi-tech gaming rig
but nice none the less.
Hopefully Microsoft will work on this problem a little. But so far so good.
Bottom line... Way cool so far. And if the kids do better on the homework, if
at all, even better!!!!!
