using a table with 1 row and 2 columns-jepg in first cell -centered- and text in second cell---- question is --- when editing the HTML where do I insert a cellpadding tag or attribute topush teh text away from the right side of the table cell? I only want to affect the text in the one cell and not teh jpeg in the other cell.

That works- but it still adds padding to teh jpg- but thats O.K. as long as
I keep it to only 10 pix of padding- thank you Jens.

Cell Properties offers no opportunity to specify padding.

If you want to pad a single cell, you would have to use CSS, e.g.,

td.special { padding-right:25px; }
....
<td><img src="yourjpg.jpg"...><td class="special">blah blah</td>

You could also do this -

..special { margin-right:25px; }
....
<td><img src="yourjpg.jpg"...><td><span class="special">blah
blah</span></td>
