Table of Contents - removing field link from view

Using Word 2003.
The table of contents in the document works fine; when you click on the TOC
link, it jumps to the correct section of the document.

When you jump to that specific section, the title of the TOC link is showing
in all views (Normal, Web, Print, Outline). Example: {TC " Preamble"\ l 1}
The only place it does not show is in Print Preview

I don't want this link to show at all. What are the options for turning
viewing it off?

Thank you for any advice in advance! This is starting to drive me crazy,
after searching all the help functions, Microsoft online, discussion boards,
etc. I could find.

Toggle off the display of Hidden text. TC and XE fields are formatted as
Hidden.

Thank you. I ended up going to Tools>Options>View>Formatting Marks and
deselecting the "Hidden Text" box.

The solution was instant and it worked! Thank goodness. Thanks again!
