I started to create a table. Now I want to go to the top of the page and add a topic or header (without using the header and footnote option). How can I move the table down on the page. I am using word 2000.

Click at the beginning of the top left cell of the table. Press Ctrl+Enter to insert a page break. Press the UpArrow key once, and delete the page break. There should be an empty paragraph above the table now.

Just position the cursor on the leftmost position of the first line of the
first cell of the first row and hit Enter. A paragraph mark (¶) will be
added before the table.
