tabs inside table?

In Publisher 2003, is it possible to define tabs within a table cell? I
thought that *somewhere* I had seen a place to determine what key would take
you to the next table cell, so I had surmised that it was possible to define
tabs in a table cell.

I googled this group (did you feel that?!) and found that question - the
suggestion was to create a text box in the table cell. I created a 3 x 3
table, clicked on one of the cells and then Insert/Text Box. But then I am
only creating a text box *on top of* the table cell. If the table is resized
or moved the box is hanging out there.

Am I missing a way to really contain that text box in the cell?

I just checked in Publisher 2007 (I don't have 2003 installed to check
at the moment), and tabs stops can be defined both on the horizontal
ruler and through Format > Tabs in a table cell. To insert a tab, hit
Ctrl+Tab.

Thank you Ed! That works great. I never noticed that the ruler was active at
that point.

Many apologies for jumping in, but it was me that asked that question just
over 12 months ago and I am convinced that Ctrl/Tab was not available then.
Please can you tell me if this has been added recently via updates.

I've only tested in Publisher 2007; Julia's post suggests that it does
work in Publisher 2003.

Hello Ed.
I did test it myself before posting and it does work in Publisher 03. What I
was curious about was wether it has been updated via updates as I could not
find a solution to this then. It was even the genius that is called Mary
Sauer that suggested that I put a text box over the table.

I never, ever desired tabs in a table, and I did not know one could do it.

I am sorry I gave you bad advice. If I can make it up to you let me know. I feel
like an idiot...

Not bad advise, just an alternative. The solution worked at the time.
