In the event the hourly wages ($/hr) are different for travel time, or while
on travel, you will need to create separate tasks for these portions of the
travel.
On the resource sheet, double click the resource name. Click the Cost tab.
Use the different cost tables (A, B, C, D) to create the correct rates for
the different portions of the travel. Click OK.
In the Gantt chart, create all the necessary tasks and assign resources.
Go to the Resource Usage View, insert the Cost Rate Table column, and assign
an appropriate rate table for each task. The default is Table A.
Example: Suppose a resource is paid $20/hr. Here in California (USA) the
minimum wage is $8/hr. In Rate Table A, place $20/hr as standard rate. In
Rate Table B place $8/hr as standard rate.
Create tasks in the Gantt Chart. Travel to Offsite, Attend Meeting, Rest
Period.
In the Resource usage view, assign Rate Table B to "Travel to Offsite" and
"Rest Period", assign Rate Table A to "Attend Meeting"
***
Some people just create a second resource on the resource sheet, and use a
different pay rate. However, this may make resource leveling more difficult.
