Task bar shortening when adding resource names

Why do task bars shorten when resource names are added to the end and how can
I stop this happening?

Hello J,

Most likely the duration of the tasks (represented graphically by the
length of the Gantt chart bars) is decreasing because you are adding
resources to Effort Driven tasks. To turn off effort-driven, double
click on the task to show the Task Information dialog box, click the
advanced tab, and uncheck effort driven.

Check Help in MS Project for detailed information about the
effort-driven option and post back if you have any further questions.
