task delay

I have a task (External Testing) and a predecesor (Debugging) with a finish
to start dependency. External Testing has a duration of 5 days, however
there is a 15 day, and counting, delay for completing the task. If
Debugging can't begin until External Testing is complete including the
delay, what is the best way to approach the delay using Project?

I've read a bunch and tried a few things - nothing really seems to give me
exactly what I'm trying to get - which simply a delay to the start of
Debugging due to the delay with completing External Testing (the work hasn't
increased for External Testing, it's the client dragging their feet that is
causing the delay.)

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance
JR

Hi JR,

You need to make the task 5 days duration, add the resource
("supplier" will probably do) 100% and assign the "fixed work" task
type and press OK. Then you can increase the duration according to
reality. Project will spread the "work" across the (ever increasing)
duration by reducing the units/day of supplier assigned.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Thanks Paul - I'll give your recomendation a try and see how it looks/works.
Sounds as though it's exactly what I'm trying to figure out.
