I have several tasks in my project plan that go from non critical to critical
when I record progress against them.
For exmple, for one of the tasks I have removed all dependencies and
initially I have a total slack of 234 days. The task is fixed work, effort
driven and has 3.75days work with an elapsed duration of 7.47days and has an
"as soon as possible" constraint. If I record 1.49 days actual work, the
total slack stays at 234days and the task remains non critical. If I record
any value above 1.5 days actual work the total slack becomes zero and the
task becomes critical. I cannot find a logical explanation for this and would
appreciate some advice.
I am using Project 2000 SR-1.
